Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”
