FC Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
