Homages Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues persist in remembering the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can finally express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced passing more hours together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the production, remarking that he cannot recall "a single day without laughter".

"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a different piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed

Recently, a Los Angeles court official ruled to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.

A legal directive issued a restriction on the investigation to limit the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a official listing listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Response and Criticism

After the deaths, public figures expressed varying comments.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making divisive statements that were broadly criticized by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his voice to the detractors last week. Talking on his podcast, Rogan labeled the comments as "shocking" and implied they showed a troubling deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan finished by remarking that an aide should have acted when the choice to comment on the death was made.
