Palestinian-American Teenager Liberated Following Nine-Month Period in Israeli Custody

A American-Palestinian teenager who spent a nine-month period in Israel's custody without charge was released.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old during his detention in February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit from his Florida home under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, which he previously denied.
United States authorities said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.
Now sixteen years old, was taken to hospital right after being freed, according to close relatives.
According to them, he appears showing signs of malnutrition, and is suffering from conditions acquired while detained.
In a statement, family spokesperson spoke of the family's "tremendous relief".
The uncle, Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"Right now, we are focused on providing Mohammed with urgent medical care necessary for his recovery after experiencing Israel's abuse and inhumane conditions over several months."
US officials announced ongoing to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.
{"American leadership considers paramount to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," it added.
Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and the White House, demanding more be done for his freedom.
Mr Ibrahim, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations regarding stone throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.
The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, receiving updates exclusively what had happened to him via legal paperwork.
Mohammed was held without charge at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.
